About
Spellenclub Mechelen is a board and card game club in Mechelen, Belgium, founded in 2017 and registered as a non-profit (vzw) in 2018. It brings together players of all kinds, from light party games to long, heavy strategy games. Its weekly game nights on Tuesdays and Saturdays are now run by the local shop De Spelfanaat, while the club focuses on all-day game marathons, a tournament team in the Flemish BFVS circuit, its own tournaments and an annual members' game weekend.
The club is where Belgium's 18xx scene took root: a core of 18xx players formed around it and grew into the independent association 18xxBelgium, which organises the twice-yearly Belgian 18xx Convention in Mechelen.
