18DSM

About

18DSM is an 18xx convention held every year in the Des Moines area of Iowa, in the American Midwest. The first edition took place in August 2021 and the event has since settled on the last full weekend of June, running for four days from Thursday to Sunday.

The format is open gaming devoted entirely to 18xx: attendees form tables freely, a shared library of games and poker chips is available, and players of every level are welcome. Results are tracked over the weekend for a casual tournament with a trophy for the top player, plus door prizes. Early editions gathered around twenty players and more than twenty games each.
